Five technical building blocks, all on open source and all built so that your data stays with you. Consulting, prototype, delivery and upkeep come from one hand; every step can still be commissioned on its own.
Content management systems
Depending on the purpose I work with WordPress or Drupal. Both run on PHP and MySQL, both make no special demands on hosting, and both have their justification. Which system fits depends not on the system but on your problem: on what the site must do today, and on what is to come in two years.
Collaboration tools
I advise on selecting and introducing open collaboration tools, install and adapt them: Nextcloud for files, shared documents and calendars, Matrix for team communication with end-to-end encryption. The systems run on your own infrastructure; you do not hand over control of your data.
Map applications
I build maps from proven open components: OpenStreetMap as the data base, PostGIS as the geodatabase, Mapbox GL for rendering in the browser. Out of these come custom map applications that fit into your existing systems.
Assessments
For digital assessments, tests and surveys I develop tools on an open basis, from a simple questionnaire to an examination scenario with evaluation.
Knowledge and information systems
For what sits in mailboxes, on drives and in people’s heads: Wiki.js and DokuWiki for manuals and procedure descriptions, XWiki and MediaWiki where structure and permissions matter, Nextcloud Collectives when the knowledge should sit where the files already are.
