Participation

Participation is not a hearing at the end of the process. It is a design decision taken early: who gets to speak, about what, and with what weight?

Digitization does not just mean the use of digital technologies, but rather new forms of collaboration, organization and value creation. For this purpose, I advise and accompany organizations in the development process.

Citizen participation

Dare new ways of citizen participation! I support you in finding suitable communication and participation processes and implementing them technically, in terms of content and organization. I help municipalities, states, and civil society actors to professionally select and execute digital events and show what a new culture of participation can look like.

Thinking online and offline together

The smart use of technologies means a suitable mix of online-only, offline, hybrid formats. Depending on what makes the most sense and works best for your goals.

  • Conception
  • Event consulting
  • Process design
  • Process moderation
  • White / Green Paper

The ValuesLab - Digital Ethics

Develop their own responses to the ethical ambiguities in digital product and service development. The Value Lab supports you in designing digital products and services in a value-sensitive way. Together with my colleague Dr. Saskia Dörr, I offer you an orientation framework and a set of methods for value-based digital design in an innovative subject area between business and society. You develop your solution space co-creatively.

As a result, you will receive an action set to consider value-driven digital design of products “from the beginning”. I offer various workshops for this purpose.

Target groups: Professionals who want to systematically deal with an ethical ambivalence present in practice in digital product and service design and who want to expand their methodological competence in the process. E.g. designers, developers, product managers, project managers, decision-makers, managing directors, technical or departmental managers and sustainability or CR managers. No prior IT or ethics knowledge is necessary to participate.

What you get

  • Decisions that hold

    What is carried lasts longer.

  • Early feedback

Objections arrive while they are still cheap.

  • Access to knowledge

Participants know things that appear in no file.

  • No fig leaf

Meet the requirements and actually learn something.

Process

  1. 1

    Clarify

What is genuinely negotiable? Sham questions do more harm than good.

  2. 2

    Tailor

    Format, audience, reach, effort.

  3. 3

    Run

    Moderated, documented, traceable.

  4. 4

    Report back

What became of the contributions? This step decides about the next round.

What this costs

Billed by person-day, as a senior consultant. I will tell you the day rate in our first conversation, together with an estimate of how many days your project needs. Both binding, before you decide.

Small pieces of work I bill at a fixed price where the scope can be drawn clearly. I will tell you which of the two comes out cheaper.

Participation needs something tangible

A prototype makes abstract plans discussable, especially for people who do not read planning documents.
